Suriya's super-brawn in new flick
Here's the first look of Tamil superstar Suriya's much-awaited flick, 7 Aum Arivu, (The Seventh Sense) where the star is featured as a Buddhist monk. It is one of the roles he plays in the film.Suriya's look in this A R Murugadoss film has been closely-guarded, part of the strategy adopted by the makers to prevent "leaks."
The film, billed as a sci-fi thriller, reportedly revolves around a "super machine", which is brought to India.

From a fierce cop to a ruthless killer, Tamil star Suriya has done it all with great aplomb. On his birthday, here's a look at this talented actor's backstory.
Born in Chennai, Suriya is the eldest of actor Sivakumar and wife Lakshmi's three children.
Suriya attended Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan School and St. Bede's School in Chennai and graduated from Loyola College with a Bachelors degree in Commerce.
He worked in a textile company before his movie career took off.
After several years of courtship, he married actress Jyothika on September 11, 2006. They have appeared in many movies together including Poovellam Kettuppar, Uyirile Kalanthathu, Kaakha Kaakha, Perazhagan, Maayavi, June and Sillunu Oru Kaadhal.
The couple have two children, daughter Diya and son Dev.
Suriya's first film was Nerrukku Ner (1997), produced by Mani Ratnam. In 2001 he starred in a comedy called Friends.
Suriya finally got recognition in 2001 with the Tamil movie Nandha, directed by Bala. Suriya played the role of an ex-convict in the movie and received a Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actor.
In 2003, Suriya starred in Gautham Menon's Tamil movie Kaakha Kaakha which dealt with the life of a police officer. This was Jyothika and Surya's first film together and it also established Surya in the Tamil film industry. Kaakha Kaakha was one of the five top ranked Tamil movies of 2003.
In the same year, he starred in Pithamagan. He played a happy-go-lucky village crook in the movie which also starred Vikram. Suriya received the Best Supporting Actor Award at the Filmfare Awards South for the movie.
In 2004, Suriya played a double role of an aggressive boxer and a handicapped phone booth keeper in the Tamil movie Perazhagan. The movie also starred his wife Jyothika.
Later that year, he starred in Mani Ratnam's political drama Aayutha Ezhuthu, which was based on the life of George Reddy, a student leader in Hyderabad during the late 60s and early 70s.
The year 2005 started with a bang. Suriya played a character with short term memory loss in the blockbuster Ghajini. Ghajini was remade in Hindi with Aamir Khan in the lead.
In 2006 he appeared opposite his wife Jyothika in Sillunu Oru Kaadhal and in 2007, Suriya's only release was Vel.
In 2008, he appeared in Vaaranam Aayiram, directed by Gautham Menon. Suriya played dual roles, of a son and a father, ranging from 17 to 75 years. He won several awards, including a the Best Actor Awards at the Filmfare Awards South, the Tamil Nadu State Film Awards and the Vijay Awards.
Suriya won the Entertainer of the Year at the 2009 Vijay Awards for Aadhavan. He won the same award the following year as well, for Singam.
Suriya played a fierce cop in Singam. The movie has been remade in Hindi by Rohit Shetty as Singham with Ajay Devgn in the lead.
